Setting up and installing the TPO Ranks

If you carefully read and follow these instructions, you should be able to install and enjoy the MidiTzer/GSO VTPO very quickly and easily.  If you get into a bind, reread and try again.  Never re-install your OS, audio card or GSO unless you are advised by an expert to do so.   See "PC and Audio System Recommendations".

Create a folder “C:\TPO Ranks” on your C drive.  Copy the all of the downloaded GIG files and above into this folder.  You should have a minimum of 3 gigabytes available on that drive.  The GigaStudio project files, (e.g., “W260-C-M21-NFX.gsp”, etc.) should also be copied into “C:\TPO Ranks”. You will need to have GS3 do a Quicksound database update.  Highlight the “TPO Ranks” folder in the lower left corner of the screen (expand C:\ if necessary to see this folder, then press the “F5” key.

Next you will need to select a project file which best matches your system including type of CPU (e.g., Pentium 4) and number of speaker channels you will be using.  See “Project Files”.   Use File/Open in GSO and navigate to “C:\TPO Ranks” and select the appropriate project (“gsp”) file for your system. GSO will then automatically load the samples into the correct channels.  It is recommended that you NOT set any project as the default for GSO.

GSO is now ready to go.  If you should later wish to try a different project file, hit “Reset” then load the new file.
